Several of our postdocs and students participated in the annual Larry Gentry research forum hosted by the Cell and Cancer Biology Department on Oct 11th, 2022.
LG Forum is named after Larry E. Gentry, Ph.D., an associate professor of the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Department (now renamed Cell and Cancer Biology Department) from 1986 to 1998. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor over eight years and struggled valiantly with his illness.
The day-long scientific meeting consists of faculty, postdocs, and students who would like to present their research in a 15 min short talk plus another 5 min Q&A session. Besides short talks, we were glad to have a guest speaker this year, Jenny Wang, Ph.D., an alumnus of our department and professor from the Cancer Biology and Genetics department at Ohio State University College of Medicine, who gave a presentation on the function of Grm3 in colon cancer.
This year our lab has 5 presenters: Boqing Gu (Ph.D. candidate), Jackson Huang (Ph.D. candidate), Shreyasi Ganguly (Ph.D. candidate), David Escobar (Postdoctoral Fellow), and Tim Cui (Postdoctoral Fellow).
We are extremely proud of all our participants who gave very impressive presentations. Congratulations to all for their excellence at this important meeting pertinent to our department. Below are some photos of the event taken by several students that attended.
